An award-winning Director and Screenwriter, Dave has a M.A. in English and an M.F.A. in Screenwriting. Dave was one of the original co-founders of Crux Jinx Pictures, LLC here in San Francisco, CA. Since then the company has grown and has been rebranded as Crux Jinx Productions.
His focus is character and story driven narratives, regardless of genre. He recently finished a feature film, Losing Her (Best Feature, Noor Film Festival; Golden Ace Award, Las Vegas Film Festival), and is currently developing a web series called Dreamwalkers, which will be shot in Northern California, and Snow Men, a feature film to be shot in Illinois.
Marcus Sams has been a professionally working actor / teaching artist in the Bay Area since 2005. With representation from MDT Talent he has worked for Nike, Verizon, Jansport, Ford, Microsoft, Nintendo, Avaya, to list a few. Marcus has a degree in Theatre Arts with a Business Admin minor from CSU, Chico. He studied improv at Leela, and has been trained by some of the most nationally influential improv teachers, some including, David Razowsky, Susan Messing, and Joe Bill to list a few. Marcus performs with Leela’s Armando Company, Blair N’ Sams and in Shades of Grey. He has performed in over a dozen improv festivals across the country including: Gainesville Improv Festival 2011, San Francisco Improv Festival 10 times, California Improv Festival 2014, Improvaganza (Hawaii Festival of Improv) 2014, San Diego Improv Festival 2015, and in April of 2015 will perform at the coveted Chicago Improv Festival.
Currently he teaches for SF Acting Academy, Pictoclik Film Festival, Leela, Improv w/Marcus, and at improv festivals and schools across the nation. Sams brings his artistic prowess and extensive knowledge of IT to the Crux Jinx team.
A graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design, JL Howarth (Jonathan L Howarth) has a BFA in the Digital Media Arts and holds several years of experience in the visual communications field. He has developed brand, corporate identities and motion graphics for clients in retail, fashion and television. Howarth likes to spend his free time experimenting with moving images, writing and illustrating ideas. Often credited for his skills within visual media, he is also noted for his skills as a professional DJ, having played at a few popular venues in California.
Joseph Daman is a Producer that delves head first into every project he undertakes. With his energy dedicated towards the arts, he brings valuable knowledge to the table for project funding, production workflows, business negotiations and key insights into the film industry’s inner workings. The story, and keeping the project on schedule and on budget always come first. He is accustomed to leading crew members varying from bare minimum to large scale. A natural leader, he excels in high pressure and creative environments. Joseph is always in search of the next compelling and challenging story to bring to life.
